Colarado Gore-Tex Railspec Bomber Jacket Gore-Tex Gore-Tex http://www.industrialworkwear.com/images/product/GB2FWBJRl.jpg Fabric Performance: Windproof

Shivering? It could be the windchill effect. This occurs when cold air penetrates your clothing, robbing heat from your body's sensitive microclimate. To keep you comfortable and protected in windy conditions, the ePTFE membranes in GORE fabrics can be engineered to provide an impenetrable wind shield. The clothing breathes, but wind stays out, so you're able to focus on the task at hand.

Fabric Performance: Waterproof & Liquid Resistant

The microporous structure of our ePTFE membranes can feature pores that are about 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, which means no water can penetrate them. A similar structure is used in fabrics that are required to resist dangerous liquids. Gore fabrics can be engineered to resist blood, body fluids, many common chemicals, and petroleum-based products.

Fabric Performance: Breathable

Perspiration: a quarter cup (50 ml) at rest. Over four and a half cups (1 liter) during heavy exertion. Nearly 17 cups (4 liters) during a full-out run. That's how much our bodies can release in an hour in the form of water vapour.

To prevent the discomfort caused by overheating or wet conductive heat loss, perspiration must be able toescape through your clothing, footwear, and gloves. While many everyday fabrics offer this level of breathability, very few can provide it in tandem with liquid penetration resistance.

When developing a membrane, Gore engineers take into account the end user's specific needs for breathability and protection. The size and density of the membrane pores must allow water vapour to escape without sacrificing the necessary protection.

When water vapour can easily pass through the membrane, you remain comfortable and dry, whether you're on patrol or servicing airplanes on the tarmac.
